What is a jib crane?
Common to the crane type “swing crane” is that the crane can turn or, as the name indicates, swing around the crane’s vertical axis. In most cases, a jib crane is fixed on either a wall or a column, but the crane type is also available in removable variants. A jib crane is primarily used at production units in industry. Since a jib crane is mounted on e.g. wall, rafters or column in the company, the crane takes up no floor space, but operates easily and flexibly in a good radius.
Wall jib cranes
If you have a need for a wall jib crane that is tailored exactly to your business, we would like to hear from you about your needs. One of the smart features of a wall jib crane is that this type of crane does not take up floor space, as it is mounted directly on the building’s existing rafters or columns. JLM teknik adapts your wall swing crane solution so that the crane operates optimally in all respects, and easily fulfills the lifting tasks that you want the crane to handle. If you need a full floor area in your production, a wall jib crane is the obvious choice due to the space savings. In many cases, a wall jib crane will also be a cheaper crane solution than a column jib crane. The typical lifting capacity of a wall jib crane is up to 1 tonne and when mounted on a building column, the swing range will be around 180°.
Column-mounted slewing cranes
JLM teknik sells eleven standard jib cranes with different lengths of aluminum extension arm and lifting capacity up to 320 kg. Unlike a wall jib crane, a column jib crane will take up floor space as it is mounted on the floor in the production hall. If the floor is not solid enough, a new foundation must usually be cast for the column jib crane before it is installed. A column jib crane is practical and flexible with a good outlay that ensures that you can easily move heavy materials, and also get a large swing area and strong lifting capacity. Narrow working areas do not have to be an obstacle when installing a column jib crane. Column jib cranes are easy to adapt to the individual site areas of the workplace, even in places with narrow passages. In areas with limited space, it is obviously a popular and widely used crane type.
